Electric Vehicle Charging Station Call for Projects

UPDATE: May 11, 2022 

NCTCOG has evaluated applications received by the April 22 deadline.  The amount requested by eligible projects exceeds all available funding. NCTCOG does not plan to hold a second round of applications.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is offering grant funding for the installation of Level 2 and Direct Current Fast Charge (DCFC) electric vehicle charging stations.

Proposed Call for Project Details

Eligible Applicants:

Eligibility includes public sector entities (e.g., local governments, transit agencies, school districts, public college or university campuses, etc.) in the NCTCOG region. 

Charging infrastructure must be installed on property owned by the eligible applicant and located within the 10-county ozone nonattainment area. This includes sites within Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise counties.

Eligible applicants must adopt a policy consistent with the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) Clean Fleet Policy or similar policy by the application deadline. 

Eligible Activities and Costs: 

Eligible activities include installation of Level 2 and DCFC Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Eligible costs include design, engineering, purchase, installation, and construction costs. Maintenance and operation costs of the charging station are NOT eligible.

  4. Submit an Online Risk Assessment  (Note: You cannot start and stop this survey; once started, the entire survey must be completed in one sitting.  Staff recommends using this copy of the survey [PDF] to gather all necessary information prior to starting online entry via the live survey.)

Round 1 applications are now open. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated on a competitive basis after the application deadline. The deadline for NCTCOG to have Round 1 applications "in hand" is 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022. If funds remain after Round 1, the deadline for NCTCOG to have Round 2 applications "in hand" is 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022.
