Designing for Pedestrian Safety 201 Workshop
Each Workshop option included the same material. Participants in each virtual workshop were eligible for engineering professional development hours; and for planners, the workshop was approved for six certification maintenance credits by APA.
The Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Safety prioritizes technical assistance and training to cities with the highest nationwide rates of pedestrian crashes and fatalities, including the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Continuing this support of federal guidance, FHWA and the North Central Texas Council of Governments collaborated to offer Designing for Pedestrian Safety 201 virtual workshops, focusing on countermeasures to improve pedestrian safety across North Texas. The virtual workshops addressed pedestrian safety challenges that our region’s transportation professionals encounter each day and highlight best practices in reducing crashes.
