The defense community plays a significant role in the North Texas economy, with thousands of North Texans serving in the armed forces and numerous companies and local bases providing jobs to residents. The North Central Texas Council of Governments is a partner to local governments and the defense community in addressing infrastructure needs, planning and encroachment issues, and workforce development.
