Funding & Business

The North Central Texas Council of Governments is responsible for programming billions of dollars in funding for transportation projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. NCTCOG works together with federal and state agencies, the North Texas Tollway Authority and private sector partners to make sure plans for transportation projects are fully funded before going to construction. These projects include roadway expansions, new roadways, transit, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

As part of these efforts, NCTCOG develops the Transportation Improvement Program to track the different funding sources for the hundreds of projects currently planned for North Central Texas. The Regional Toll Revenue program is an innovative funding mechanism managed by NCTCOG that leverages private sector partnerships to finance roadway projects. Finally, NCTCOG sometimes seeks assistance from private-sector or nonprofit consultants in carrying out planning studies or implementing programs.
