Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere (CASA WX)

CASA (Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of Atmosphere) WX Executive Council is comprised of emergency managers and other stakeholders from the NCTCOG region. These radars make high resolution observations at low altitudes on a scale that benefits public safety and commerce. CASA takes an “end-to-end” approach to technology design and has engaged users of weather data, such as NWS forecasters and emergency managers, as users of the technology to provide early warning to the public. We are looking to create a partnership with public and private stakeholders in a metropolitan area for expansion of the radar network and use of the radars for smart technology integration. Jurisdictions and private partners pay annual membership dues to obtain access to the CASA derived products as well as allowing their residents to have access to the CASA Alerts app.
