North Richland Hills - Home Town

2000-2001 Call for ProjectsStreetscaping in North Richland Hills
Status:  Complete

HomeTown is a 287-acre master planned mixed-use community in North Richland Hills that incorporates a pedestrian-friendly design and is located in between Mid Cities Boulevard and Highway 26.

The community includes residential units, office spaces, and retail stores. Nearby are the NRH20 Water Park and Tarrant County College’s Northeast Campus. The development is home to The Lakes at HomeTown, Walker’s Creek Park, and several sport centers/complexes, and connects to numerous bicycling trails that run throughout the city.

The City of North Richland Hills has made HomeTown the center of many of the City’s public amenities and services, including the City’s central library and an elementary school. The site is also only a five-minute drive from the North Richland Hills Rail Station, which connects to TexRail’s route that links Downtown Fort Worth to Grapevine and DFW International Airport.

NCTCOG provided funding to upgrade an intersection on the north side of HomeTown, next to Birdville High School, to improve pedestrian crossing and make vehicular traffic-flow more efficient.

The project cost of $175,000 was funded through public-private partnerships.
