Encuesta de Transporte 2020

Los proveedores de transporte público de la región se han asociado con el North Central Texas Council of Governments para tomar encuestas a los pasajeros de autobuses y tren en 2020.

A través de dos tipos de encuestas de viaje en transporte público, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Denton County Transportation Authority, Trinity Metro and Trinity Railway Express buscan en determinar cómo los pasajeros están usando la expansión del sistema de transporte y que cambios podrían hacer en el futuro para adaptarse mejor a las necesidades de la región de rápido crecimiento.

El primer tipo de encuesta será en las paradas de autobús y ayudará a los planificadores comprender los patrones de viaje de los pasajeros en cada ruta de autobús y ferroviarias. En los viajes en autobús siendo encuestados, a los pasajeros se les proporcionará una tarjeta cuando aborden y se les pedirá que la regresen antes de bajar del autobús. En los viajes en tren siendo encuestados, se les preguntará a los pasajeros al abordar en que estación se bajarán del tren.

Los pasajeros serán seleccionados al azar y se les hará una serie de preguntas sobre su viaje de transporte público actual y de sus características socioeconómicas. En la mayoría de los casos, esto ocurrirá a través del topógrafo. En otros casos, se le pedirá al pasajero de llenar el cuestionario en papel. Ambos formatos de encuesta tendrán las mismas preguntas.

Las respuestas de estas preguntas proveerán información sobre como se utilizan los servicios de transporte y donde está la demanda en todo el sistema de transporte. La información de la encuesta también permitirá a los planificadores atender mejor las necesidades de los pasajeros.

Los usuarios del sistema de transporte público de la región fueron encuestados por ultima vez en el 2014 Travel Survey. Dallas- Fort Worth es la cuarta área metropolitana más grande de la nación con una población de aproximadamente 7.5 millones. A medida que la región continúa atrayendo nuevos residentes, el transporte desempeñará un papel significante para asegurar que el sistema de transporte continúe siendo confiable.

The region's public transportation providers have partnered with the North Central Texas Council of Governments to survey bus and rail riders in 2022-2023.

Through two types of transit travel surveys, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Denton County Transportation Authority, Trinity Metro and Trinity Railway Express seek to determine how riders are using the expanding transit system and what changes could be made in the future to better accommodate the needs of the rapidly growing region.

The first type of survey will be a stop-to-stop survey and will help planners understand passengers’ trip patterns on each bus route and rail line. On bus trips being surveyed, passengers will be simply provided a card when they board and asked to return it when they get off the bus. On rail trips being surveyed, passengers will be asked upon boarding at what station they will be getting off the train.

The second type of survey will be a questionnaire. Randomly selected passengers will be asked a set of questions about their current transit trip and their socioeconomic characteristics. In most cases, this will occur through an interview by the surveyors. In other cases, the passenger will be asked to fill out a paper questionnaire. Both survey formats will contain the same questions.

The answers to these questions will provide information about how transit services are used and where the demand is throughout the transit system. The survey information will also allow planners to better serve the passengers’ needs. Users of the region's public transportation system were last surveyed in the 2014 Travel Survey.

Dallas-Fort Worth is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the nation with a current population of approximately 8 million. As the region continues to attract new residents, transit will play a significant role in ensuring the transportation system remains reliable.
