Look Out Texans – Bike, Walk, Drive Safely. Launched in October 2015, the Look Out Texans campaign encourages North Texans to watch out for one another and offers 21 safety tips to bike, walk and drive safely together. The campaign features photos of real North Texans, helping bring a greater sense of community and respect to our roads. The campaign was developed by the North Central Texas Council of Governments and funded by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Adult Safety Resource for pedestrian and bicycle safety

AARP's Pedestrian Mobility and Safety Audit Guide

AARP & ITE’s Pedestrian Mobility and Safety Audit Guide – This guide is a tool for auditors to be familiarized with technical, administrative, regulatory, social and behavioral issues related to pedestrian safety and mobility at intersections and road segments.

Identifying Barriers to Understanding Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Laws – Resources from Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) exploring and identifying barriers to pedestrian and bicycle safety laws in Texas include motorist, pedestrian and cyclist fact sheet links. Test your knowledge by taking a quiz of pedestrian and safety laws! Printed copies are also available through TTI.

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Publications - The Sustainable Development Program area has put together several handouts and fact sheets for biking and walking safely in our region. These materials can be provided as handouts at educational events and fairs and some can be modified to include your agency logo. Pedestrian Safer Journey brochure - educate children on pedestrian safety. also available in Spanish

Pedestrian Safer Journey – This program developed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) helps educators, parents and others who care about pedestrian safety to get the conversation started with children and youth. Three videos — one for each of three age groups — accompanied by a quiz or discussion and an educator's resource library can be used as an introduction to pedestrian safety skills or to augment a comprehensive curriculum. Bicycle Safer Journey pamphlet - teach children how to bicycle safely. Available in Spanish also.

Bicycle Safer Journey - This program developed by FHWA is the bicycle version of Pedestrian Safer Journey linked above. This program also incorporates three videos — one for each of three age groups — accompanied by a quiz or discussion and an educator's resource library can be used as an introduction to bicycle safety skills or to augment a comprehensive curriculum. Texas in Motion – BikeTexas and TxDOT Safe Routes to School created Jenny’s Neighborhood, a fun and educational game that teaches basic bicycle safety skills to prepare kids for a safe and active summer.

Be a Roll Model - This campaign through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was developed to encourage everyone to model safe behaviors to enhance the safety of all road users, including those who bicycle. Whether you are a motorist or bicyclist, a parent/grandparent, adult, or older youth, ride for transportation or recreation, we can all play a part in being a "Roll Model" to decrease the risks of traffic crashes and preventable injuries and death.
