McKinney - Craig Ranch
2000-2001 Call for Projects
Status: Complete
Craig Ranch is a master planned community just north of the Sam Rayburn Tollway in McKinney. At the center of the 2,200-acre greenfield development is the Town Center which is home to mixed-use buildings holding retail shops, residential units, offices and civic buildings.
The Craig Ranch development includes several local parks and green spaces, with both Rowlett Creek and Watters Creek flowing through the area. On the east side of the site is a host of public green spaces including baseball, softball, and soccer fields open to children, along with a sports complex and training centers. Additionally, the site offers several bicycling trails along the two creeks to allow residents to travel along the outskirts of the city.
The development project has provided the City with a more diverse use of local land and has improved the opportunities for physical activity in the area. The site was designed to improve pedestrian access to local green spaces, retail centers, and neighborhood resources.
NCTCOG along with McKinney provided funding for new streets and sidewalks to be built leading into the Town Center, including Henneman Way, Ben Hogan Way, TPC Drive, and Weiskopf Avenue.
The project cost of $2,890,796 was funded through public-private partnerships.
Mixed-Use Information
- 382,283 sq. ft. of retail space
- 259,058 sq. ft. of office space
